India's position in test cricket !
In the recent times , fashion is that to prepare conditions which are favorable conditions for the home team rather than a neutral pitch which makes it a good test match.. For instance , Indian tour of England pitches seemed like it was only for the faster bowlers and nothing for the spin or slower bowlers . But, one should appreciate England who have dominated both on home and away series ( in test ) .. Great adaptation to the conditions .. It is only because of the urge to win they have made it happen ! Another instance is Australia , where they fully dominated the home series but, struggling to adapt here (India).
But in India's point of view , they failed to adapt in both England and Australia .. where is the question of captaincy here ? What would the captain do if the other players do not perform ? Every player in the team should feel he his captain of the team and perform! That urge should exist it can be called 'Fire in the belly'..
Every time a player takes the field he should feel he is carrying the whole country's pride and act so..
What ever field it may be, that patriotic feeling should exist !! That will make a person perform better ..
I think that is the flaw in Indian cricketing system . They don't feel they are responsible to the country they just take the money and do nothing ! This is what you do to your own country ? What if leaders of our country felt the same way ? We would have got freedom ?
If a player is not performing in spite of his talent give him the lesser grade of income .. You keep giving him the same grade he feels he is still performing well and thus, will not improve at all .. It is applicable all cricket players even if he is Sachin or Dravid ! Give him what he needs don't overfeed him .. For instance Rohit Sharma , who is a great talent but , where is the performance ? If a player is talented where is the proof ?
At test level temperament is the key ! You can't afford to play your loose shots leave that all to T20's and ODI's ... Best example of temperament in the recent times is Faf Duplesis a knock against the mighty Ausies at their own den was classy and brilliant knock .. That is what you expect out of a player ! I don't think India still haven't found a player of that sought ..
I conclude by saying that India still haven't reached that level which is expected ....
